Housing Assistance Corporation on Cape Cod ensures safe, affordable, and secure housing for individuals on the Cape and Islands. This organization’s mission is to help low-income households to find affordable and safe housing throughout the Cape and assist them with any housing questions.
Homeless Prevention Council provides housing and financial support to Cape Cod residents. They can help with case management, rental assistance, and resident services and outreach. You can get help or refer someone by visiting the website or contacting them at 508-255-9667
St. Joseph’s Shelter is located at 77 Winter Street Hyannis, MA 02601 or you can contact them at (508) 997-3202.
The Home Energy Assistance Program provides assistance to eligible households in paying their winter heating expenses. To find out who is eligible and how to apply, please visit their website.
Department of Unemployment Assistance offers unemployment help such as offering unemployment insurance, job search support, and claim assistance. Here is a link that will explain how you can apply and who is eligible for unemployment insurance. MassHire For the Cape and Islands offers resources for unemployed workers trying to find work and employers looking for workers. This site provides trainings, job boards, and other resources for people to use to apply for jobs.
Cape Cod Young Professionals Job Board helps foster young professional growth and allows employers to connect with young professionals who are looking for jobs. This organization also helps young professionals network on Cape Cod and provide them with resources in the job search.
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority provides public transportation across Cape Cod. Please visit their website for schedules and routes or call (508)775-8504 to find out more information.
The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles is responsible for vehicle registration, drivers license renewals and applications, enforcement and safety oversight, financial processing, and disability parking placard issuance.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is responsible for the highway, rail, and transit divisions as well as the RMV. They oversee highway and road repairs, public transit, and other community programming and planning regarding transportation.

Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands provides older adults and people with disabilities with supportive services and care management, as well as senior nutrition and other programs. They also provide protective and preventative services for elder abuse. You can contact them at (508)394-4630.
Alzheimer’s Family Support Center provides a wide range of support for no cost from the early stages to bereavement help.
MassOptions, a database from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services, helps older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their caretakers find long-term, local support and services.

Health Care and Food Insecurity
Outer Cape Health Services provides a community based service program aimed at helping people with unmet medical needs or other social service needs by connecting them to local agencies, providers, and community groups.
The Laws Surrounding Medicare can be found on Mass.gov, providing resources and regulations for the state.
You can apply for Medicare and learn more about it through this site or call 1-800-MEDICARE for further assistance.
MassHealth provides comprehensive health coverage for eligible residents. To find out if you are eligible and what it provides, please visit MassHealth’s website linked above.
Health Connector allows individuals, businesses, and families shop, compare, and enroll in health insurance plans. The program allows people to get estimates, compare plans, enroll, or apply for ConnectorCare, which is for eligible people and provides a lower cost sharing and premium depending on income.
Helping Our Women serves the Outer Cape and helps women with chronic or serious health conditions. They provide services such as financial assistance to offset medical costs, assistance in applying for SNAP or other food programs, transportation to medical appointments, and other community programs to support women with illness. You can request help on their website.
Duffy Health Center provides healthcare and support services to people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness on Cape Cod.
Cape Cod Healthcare is a health care provider for residents of Cape Cod. You can explore the types of care and access your MyChart on the website.
Lower Cape Outreach Council serves the Lower and Outer Cape with food and emergency resources. They provide financial assistance for essential household services, manage food pantries, provide clothing and home goods, and provide other support services. You can contact them at (508)240-0694.
The Ellie Fund provides support services for breast cancer patients in Massachusetts. They provide services such as grocery gift cards, meal delivery, transportation assistance for medical appointments, and childcare and housekeeping services.
Cape Cod Wellness Collaborative provides support to residents of Cape Cod who are facing cancer. They provide services to support integrative therapies, nourishing meals, and emotional support. You can apply on their website.
Fishing Partnership in Chatham provides health and wellness support, safety training, and economic security and worker support for commercial fisherman, their families, and related shore-industry workers. They help with navigating and finding healthcare, improving safety at sea, and providing economic security.
SNAP benefits (formerly food stamps) is a federal nutrition assistance program by the Department of Transitional Assistance. It provides people with food insecurities a monthly food fund, education on nutrition, and added benefits when people shop local produce. Massachusetts Emergency Food Assistance Program (MEFAP) connects Massachusetts residents with their closest food bank. Visit this site to find your closest food bank!
The Need Food? Program by the Greater Boston Food Bank helps users find local food assistance agency partners.
The Family Pantry of Cape Cod provides the residents of Cape Cod in need with food and clothing assistance.
Cape Kid Meals provides school-aged children who struggle with food insecurities with weekend meals to supplement for their reliance on school meals during the week.
Meals on Wheels is a program established to provide older adults age 60 and up who face food insecurities with healthy and nutritious meals. They provide meals to adults who are frail or homebound or to adults in public locations such as senior centers or councils on aging.
The 246 Community Kitchen provides free, weekly dinner meals on Tuesday evenings at 5 pm at 246 Main Street in Wellfleet for residents of the Outer Cape.
SKIP is a Soup Kitchen in Provincetown that provides hot, nutritious free lunches to residents of the Outer Cape during the winter months. They serve Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the Provincetown United Methodist Church (20 Shank Painter Road) and to-go meals for the weekend on Fridays.
Family Table Collaborative partners with local farms, restaurants, and stores to distribute nutritious meals to individuals and families on Cape Cod. You can request a meal on their website in the Meal Request section.
Truro Community Kitchen delivers free prepared meals on Tuesdays to members of Truro’s community. You can register for a meal on their website under the Need A Meal? Section.
Sustainable CAPE provides educational programs and services regarding local food, including access, nutrition, and health. You can look into the programs and register for one on their website.
Chatham Harvesters works to directly provide the community with sustainably caught and local seafood through their Fish Share program where members pay ahead of the season to secure fresh catch. Sign up for their membership on their website and select from a variety of fresh seafood to order online.
Veterans, Legal, Domestic Violence, and Immigration
The Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center is an organization dedicated to providing transportation assistance, legal clinics, and other support to helping veterans and their families.
The Massachusetts Law Reform Institute has a whole section on Family Law and Domestic Violence, for anyone who needs support.

South Coastal Counties Legal Services provides free legal services to low-income residents in Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod. To contact and apply for legal help, please visit their website or call them at (800)244-9023.
The Independence House provides services to individuals impacted by domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault on Cape Cod. They provide emergency housing, counseling, education, and other programs that advocate for these individuals. Environment

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection regulates the air and water quality, waste management and disposal, wetland protection, and other environmental areas.
Division of Fisheries and Wildlife protects and manages freshwater fish, wildlife, and their habitats across Massachusetts.
Cape Cod Fisherman’s Alliance represents the commercial fisherman of Cape Cod. They advocate, provide business support, and do community outreach for the fishing community. If you are a part of the commercial fishing community, you can apply for a membership by visiting their website under Membership.
The APCC works to preserve, protect, and enhance the natural resources of Cape Cod. On their website, you can find educational resources, volunteer opportunities, guidelines for natural resources, and other ways to stay connected.

Children’s Cove: Child Advocacy Center for the Cape & Islands provides services to child victims of sexual and physical abuse, witness to domestic violence, and sexual exploitation and human trafficking. We Can helps local women with challenges such as providing career and legal support, personal-development workshops, mentoring, and financial education for those in need of guidance and support.
